dbCAN-PUL is a data repository of prokaryotic CAZyme-containing gene clusters that have been experimentally validated to act on a carbohydrate substrate (also known as polysaccharide utilization loci or PULs). In contrast to similar resources such as PULDB, this repository serves as a database containing the most experimentally verified PULs with a confirmed carbohydrate substrate, as well as range from different phyla and comprised of different metabolism systems (as opposed to only the Bacteroidetes and the Starch utilization system (Sus) gene homologs).
dbCAN-PUL是一款针对原核生物的数据库资源,其收录的均为经实验验证可作用于碳水化合物底物的、携带碳水化合物活性酶(Carbohydrate-Active enZYmes, CAZyme)编码基因的基因簇,这类基因簇也被称为多糖利用位点(polysaccharide utilization loci, PULs)。与PULDB等同类数据库相比,本数据库不仅包含经实验验证且底物明确的PULs,其来源覆盖不同的细菌门,且涵盖多种代谢系统;不同于仅收录拟杆菌门(Bacteroidetes)及淀粉利用系统(Sus)基因同源物的同类资源。
