Organic arable land, share (%)

Organic arable land as a percentage of total arable land (%); ‘Organically grown arable land’ means areas of agricultural land managed using organic production methods and complying with the requirements of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products. NOTE: Shares exceeding 100 % are classified as non-response. This may occur when the two data are derived from two different sources. Total agricultural land is collected from the Board of Agriculture’s agricultural register, where the land is registered in the municipality in which it is located. Information on organic land is obtained from the control bodies that check farmers’ compliance with the rules. It registers only one municipal code for the entire holding, although a holding may have an area in more than the municipality indicated by the inspection body. Therefore, interpret the municipal values and the unweighted municipal average of this KPI with caution.
