Total greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector within the geographical area, tonnes of CO2e/inv. The agricultural sector includes emissions from different types of manure, animal digestion, liming of arable land, cultivation of organogenic and mineral soils, and indirect emissions of nitrous oxide from managed land. The total greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 of fossil origin and N2O, CH4, HFC, PFC, and SF6) are converted into CO2 equivalents. Emissions per inhabitant should not be interpreted as consumption-based emissions. Individual industrial activities can lead to high local emissions, as well as road traffic on the core road network or a large proportion of farms.
