DP Heritage Character (OpenData)

This entity describes an area of distinctive cultural and historic value which is protected under a provision made in the District Plan and is considered to have a quality worthy of retention. These areas have modified, or additional rules to the standard zone rules in the District Plan that recognise and protect their special nature. These areas can also contain individually scheduled heritage items and settings. This entity is referred to in the District Plan as a Heritage Area. It is spatially abstracted to an area.
