Heat – Vulnerable families in paved neighborhoods (2020)

This map shows the percentage of vulnerable families living in the most paved neighbourhoods of the province of Zuid-Holland. On this map only the neighborhoods are visible where at least 60 % of the neighborhood is paved. In these neighborhoods the percentage of vulnerable families is shown. These are families with children who are low-educated, low-income or have no work. When it comes to taking climate-adaptive measures in these neighbourhoods, it is to be expected that many residents do not have a budget to work with them themselves. Greening neighbourhoods with a lot of hardening can contribute to lowering the temperature, the infiltration of rainwater and the livability of the neighborhood. This map can help prioritise neighborhoods where extra effort is needed, and where residents will need to be supported to green their neighborhood. The neighbourhoods in the province of Zuid-Holland that are paved for less than 60 %, and neighborhoods where less than 1 % of vulnerable families live are not shown on this map.
