Share of workstations in high-knowledge services among employed positions in services

The indicator reports the number of employees in the services sector who work in an establishment whose main activity is considered to be ‘knowledge-intensive’ to the total number of employees in the services sector, on 30 June and 31 December. In combination with the number of employees in the industrial sector working in high technology, it approximates the entity’s capacity for innovation and competitiveness. Breaks in series: — at 1 January 2011: outflow of inactive employees’ statistics following the amendment of the declaration of public sector employees (Capelo reform). — at 1 January 2012: exit from the statistics on inactive employees following the amendment of the declaration of public sector employees (Capelo reform): continuation and end. — at 1 January 2014: adjustment of the division by working municipality following the exhaustive identification of the units of establishment.
