Protected areas: nature reserve

The county administrative boards and municipalities can form nature reserves in accordance with the Environmental Code. Nature reserves are formed for the purpose of “conserving biodiversity, nurturing and preserving valuable natural habitats or meeting needs for outdoor activities; an area needed to protect, restore or recreate valuable natural habitats or habitats for protected species may also be declared as a nature reserve.” (from the Environmental Code). Sweden has more than 5100 nature reserves.

瑞典的郡行政委员会（county administrative boards）与自治市（municipalities）可依据《环境法典》（Environmental Code）设立自然保护区（nature reserve）。设立自然保护区的目的为“保护生物多样性，养护并留存具有价值的自然栖息地，或满足户外活动需求；用于保护、恢复或重建具有价值的自然栖息地或受保护物种栖息地的区域，亦可被宣布为自然保护区。”（引自《环境法典》）。瑞典目前拥有超过5100个自然保护区。
