Monthly mean cloud cover (CM SAF project) based on CLAAS (Edition 1), near-realtime monthly supplemented

This dataset provides a cut-out, for the full dataset and other products, see CM SAF (www.cmsaf.eu). Both, CLAAS (2004-2011) and the CFC product (2012 — current), are based on SEVIRI measurements. SEVIRI is a radiometer mounted on the satellites 1 to 4 of the second generation Meteosat. MSG1 to MSG4 are geostationary satellites that Allow rotation for a 15 minute refresh rate. The radiometer is equipped with 12 spectral channels, from visible (about 0.6 micrometers) to the infrared range (approximately 13.4 micrometers).
