Total RNA extraction from skin transcriptome was achieved usingTRIzol® Reagent (Life Technologies, Cat. 15596-026) according to themanufacturer's protocol. RNA samples were further purified using RNeasy®Mini Kit (Quiagen, Cat. 74104) and treated with DNaseI (Quiagen, Cat.74254), according to the manufacturer's protocol. RNA (0.5 µg) wasreverse transcribed using the SureSelect Strand-Specific RNA Library Prep for Illumina Multiplexed Sequencing (Agilent), In order to establish askin transcriptome reference, a HiSeq Illumina run was obtained fromskin library with 150 bp paired-end reads
