Data Set Overview This dataset contains the plasma electron density derived from electric field mutual impedance spectra measured by RPCMIP in active modes for ESC2 (COMET ESCORT 2) mission phase, between 2015/03/11 and 2015/06/30. Derived data collected in this dataset are referred as CODMAC Level 5 products. Data RPCMIP plasma electron density is obtained by onground analysis of RPCMIP spectra acquired when RPCMIP operated in active modes (SDL and LDL). Automatic algorithms have been developed to extract characteristics features from spectra. These features are related to plasma signatures and enabled in certain conditions to derive the plasma frequency and therefore the plasma electron density. Different algorithms have been developed to adapt the different operational modes of the instrument and to account for instrumental limitations (specific to each operation mode). While derived electron density is believed to be of sufficient quality for science use, false detections or misinterpretations cannot be avoided. The user is invited to use these data with caution and always consider quality values associated to density values.
