Selenium is an essential trace element for the human body, with functions including preventing cardiovascular diseases, inhibiting cancer and anti-aging, and has attracted widespread attention. "Hongmeiren" citrus is a nutrient-dense fruit with multiple health benefits, so its selenium content is closely correlated with the human body's selenium nutritional status. Determining whether the selenium content of "Hongmeiren" citrus meets national standards and grasping the selenium status of citrus from orchards in advance can provide factual evidence for quality assessment of "Hongmeiren" citrus, which plays a positive role in brand promotion, and also enables the provision of healthy, safe and high-nutrition products to customers. Taking the national standard GB 5009.93-2017 (Determination of Selenium in Foods) as the testing basis, samples were randomly collected from "Hongmeiren" citrus and labeled with unique identification numbers. The collected samples were pretreated prior to subsequent detection. Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) was employed to quantitatively detect the selenium content in each "Hongmeiren" citrus sample. The detection data were sorted and analyzed to obtain the selenium content of individual samples. The qualification of selenium in "Hongmeiren" citrus was determined by comparing the detected value with the Limit of Detection (LOD). The over-standard ratio was calculated as (detected value - LOD)/LOD, and the detection result was judged using the formula: Sample Result = IF(detected value > LOD, "Qualified", "Unqualified"). This workflow facilitates early acquisition of the selenium status of "Hongmeiren" citrus in orchards, provides factual support for quality evaluation, contributes positively to brand promotion, and enables the delivery of healthy, safe and high-nutrition products to customers.
