RNA-sequencing of Phaeodactylum tricornutum transgenic GFP cell line subpopulations

Here we characterized the differences between phenotypic subpopulations coming from a single exconjugant colony of P. tricornutum expressing the enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP), by analyzing global gene expression. Overall, our study elucidates differences in genetic content between cells in a clonally propagated culture giving rise to subpopulations, which contributes to the understanding of diatom expression systems for synthetic biology.
