Eukaryotic microbial communities in Japanese arable soils

While many studies have elucidated the bacterial communities in arable soils, eukaryotic communities have been rather poorly investigated. Yet, eukaryotic microbes are the important drivers of material cycling and food web system. To gain the much-needed knowledge on the eukaryotic community structures in arable soils, we conducted 18S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing targeting DNA extracted from 43 arable soil samples.
