The areas of a municipal map are described in the urban planning code (extracts)
SECTOR R 161-4:
‘The graphic document(s) shall delimit the sectors where constructions are authorised and those where constructions cannot be authorised, with the exception of: ... “
R. 161-5:
‘The graphic document(s) may specify that an area is reserved for the establishment of activities, in particular those which are incompatible with the neighbourhood of inhabited areas.’
R. 161-7:
‘The graphic document(s) shall, where appropriate, delimit the areas in which the reconstruction of a building destroyed by a disaster is not authorised.’

市政地图所涉地块范围由《城市规划法典》（节选）予以规定：
R 161-4条款：
"图示文件应划定允许建设的区域与禁止建设的区域，但以下情形除外：……"
R 161-5条款：
"图示文件可明确划定某区域预留用于开展特定活动，尤其是那些与居住区周边环境不相容的活动。"
R 161-7条款：
"图示文件应酌情划定禁止开展灾后损毁建筑重建活动的区域。"
