1. Introduction
The AqUavplant dataset is a high-resolution aerial image dataset for semantic segmentation of aquatic plants in natural environments. It contains 197 4K (3840px × 2160px) RGB images collected by a DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone from 9 wetlands in Bangladesh, with a ground sampling distance (GSD) of 0.04–0.05 cm/px. The dataset annotates 31 aquatic plant species, and is paired with both binary (plant / background) and multi-class (0 denotes background, 1–31 represent distinct species) semantic segmentation masks that are pixel-aligned with the corresponding images. It is designed to support machine learning research in fields such as environmental monitoring and biodiversity conservation.
