Carbon-rich soils in Lower Saxony 1: 50000 with importance for grassland conservation (BHK50GLE)

According to §5 (2) sentence 5 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSchG), a grassland break must be avoided on slopes at risk of erosion, in flood areas, on sites with high groundwater levels and on moor sites. The goal of a grassland break-up ban is to prevent the loss of ecologically valuable permanent grassland. With the agreement of the Lower Saxony route between agriculture, nature conservation and politics, a fine-based grassland ban was issued for moor sites, which is legally formulated in §2a of the Lower Saxony Implementing Act to the BNatSchG (NAGBNatSchG). The moor sites, which are subject to the prohibition of grassland breakage, have been described in the design instructions of the MU and are shown on this map. These include the soil categories Hochmoor, Niedermoor, flat covered moor, organomarsch with low bog cover and sand deck culture.
