The China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) is a large-scale interdisciplinary aging research database. Hosted by the National School of Development at Peking University and conducted by the China Social Science Survey Center of Peking University, it primarily collects high-quality micro-level data on households and individuals aged 45 and above in China. Launched in 2011 with its national baseline survey covering 150 county-level administrative units, this database aims to analyze population aging-related issues and promote relevant interdisciplinary research.
