Quantifying the contribution of paralog interference on the evolution of gene duplication and the fitness landscape of a DfrB1 protein complex.

Our main objective was to simulate the duplication of a small homomeric protein and, by using deep mutational scanning (DMS), measure the evolutionary consequences of paralog interference in shaping the fitness landscape of the two gene copies of DfrB1 and the protein complex.
