A legacy of day
收藏资源简介:
The original Tamworth Textile Biennial spanned 36 years and demonstrated a tradition for promoting and sustaining the unique cultural heritage associated with the tradition and making of textiles. The next iteration, the 1st Tamworth Textile Triennial is a firmly positioned event attracting entries from a variety of creative disciplines, age groups, emerging creatives and established practitioners. The curatorial rationale for Sensorial Loop was to showcase the changing ideas and professional craftsmanship associated with contemporary textile practice in Australia. Artists were invited to respond to 4 curatorial directions: pattern, image making, process and tool. Some of the artists involved include: Alana Clifton Cunningham, Cresside Collette, Cecilia Heffer, Michelle Hamer, Lucy Irvine, Esther Paleologos and Paula Do Prado. Aside from the opening exhibition at the Tamworth Regional Gallery, Sensorial Loop will tour Australia through 2012/13 visiting 8 regional galleries. This is supported by Visions of Australia, an Australian Government program supporting touring exhibitions by providing funding assistance for the development and touring of Australian cultural material. http://www.dpmc.gov.au/accountability/grants/view-grants.cfm?cid=1&id=2 Sensorial Loop Catalogue Essay, Patrick Snelling, curator. http://www.craftaustralia.org.au/library/essay.php?id=patrick_snelling_textiles_sensorial_loop
