Well-being; social connections and relationships, 2003-2012

This table contains data on the well-being of the population of the Netherlands aged 18 years or older in terms of happiness and satisfaction with life. These topics are broken down by various indicators of social relationships and relationships, namely the frequency of contact with family, frequency of contact with friends, contact frequency with neighbours, social trust, household composition and whether or not informal assistance is provided. In addition, it is broken down by the personal characteristics of sex, age and origin. The data comes from the Permanent Research Living situation (POLS, 2003-2009), the module Voluntary Work and Social Cohesion (V & S, 2010 old method), the Social Cohesion and Welfare research (2010 new method, 2012). Data available from 2003 to 2012. Status of the figures: The data is final. Changes as of 16 January 2015: None, this table has been discontinued. Changes as of 16-12-2013: In 2010, there was a redesign of the study. As a result, the figures from that year onwards are no longer entirely comparable to figures for previous years. For 2010 reporting year, figures are available on the basis of the old method and on the basis of the new method. For more information on the new observation method, see paragraph 4.
