The Las Campanas/AAT Rich Cluster Survey - A wider view of clusters

We propose to observe 17 clusters of galaxies from a sample of 21 for whichwe have optical imaging and spectroscopic data from Las Camapanas and AAT 2df.The combination of our extensive optical dataset more than 500 cluster members per cluster out to 10Mpc radii with XMM imaging will allow us to directly address the relation between cluster members and the intracluster gassurrounding them. All 21 clusters are more luminous than 4x10.44 erg/s and in the redshift range 0.070.16.
