The MultiSite-PPG-Robust HeartRate dataset was developed by the Department of Computer Science, ETH Zurich. It is designed to evaluate the performance of multi-site photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor fusion methods for heart rate detection. The dataset includes PPG and ECG recordings from 14 participants during 13 consecutive hours of real-world activities, amounting to a total of 182 hours of synchronized signals. Data was collected by mounting multiple PPG sensors and one ECG sensor on different body parts of the participants, such as the wrist, ankle, head, and sternum. The dataset creation process includes signal quality assessment, signal fusion, and heart rate calculation, aiming to address the issue of inaccurate heart rate detection caused by movement and device position changes during daily activities.
