Monitoring morphological changes of crude oil microdroplets by different bacterial consortia EPS

A number of bacterial species have been identified that can consume petroleum hydrocarbons with diverse metabolic capabilities. Laboratory experiments were conducted to investigate bacterial consumption by monitoring the volume change of oil droplets as well as effects of oil droplet size on this process. Two purified exopolymeric substances (EPS) from bacterial consortia were used. This dataset contains both time lapse and high-speed micrographs of EPS purified from bacterial consortia.
