Sierra Nevada plant species richness and abundance plots (from Sequoia National Park, California, USA)

These data represent 18 separate 4m x 4m plots of vegetation in meadows of the high Sierra Nevada, in Sequoia National Park, California, USA. Data represent plots from 6 meadows, which are paired between those with pack stock use (browsed = BR) and comparison plots without pack stock use (unbrowsed = UB). Three plots are arranged within each meadow to capture a moisture gradient. Analysis shows that total volumetric water content in these meadows separate individual plots into intermediate moisture (INT) and xeric (DRY) plots. Data represent placement in a gridded plot, species identity, and cover by species in each plot. Data were collected in Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park in 2012.
