The myxomycete Physarum polycephalum has the particularity to form macroplasmodia, giant cells that are constituted of ~50 millions of synchronized nuclei. The current project use this natural synchrony to characterize for the first time (i) the transcriptome of its vegetative form as microplasmodia and (ii) the transcriptome of this organism as macroplasmodia through the cell cycle.
