Informational zoning of Legal Clearing Obligations (OLD) in Haute-Garonne

This spatial dataset offers an informative zoning of the Legal Clearing Obligations (OLD) in the department of Haute-Garonne. This online map allows individuals to be able to locate their land and whether they are subject to LTO regulations. The informational zoning of the LTOs does not specify the rules to be applied to clear clearing properly but the Regional Association of Defense of Forests Against Fire, more commonly referred to as [DFCI Aquitaine](https://www.dfci-aquitaine.fr/qui-sommes-nous/presentation), proposes on its site all the actions to be carried out for the operations of scrubbing – optimal and efficient clearing: ****[**click here**](https://www.dfci-aquitaine.fr/je-suis-un-particulier/autour-de-la-maison/debroussaillement)! _**IMPORTANT: to learn about the regulations on the OLDs in force on their department, individuals can contact their City Hall or the Prefecture. The rules for implementing LTOs may differ from department to department, as they take into account the local context. They are to be implemented throughout the year and are the responsibility of the owner of the dwelling and/or the facilities.**_ * * * * By deliberation of 28 June 2022, the Departmental Council adopted the [Plan Trees and Forests](https://www.haute-garonne.fr/dossier/plan-arbres) which is one of the priority actions of Act II of the Ecological Transition Policy of the Department of Haute-Garonne. It is also part of the Department’s commitment to adaptation and resilience to the consequences of climate change: biodiversity erosion, increased frequency and intensity of natural hazards such as fires, floods, droughts, heat waves, storms. The effects of climate change are already being felt and the consequences in 2022 have been extremely heavy, including mega fires in Gironde. Fires have an immediate impact on the main functions of the forest: economic impact (loss of value and wood production, impact on economic and tourism activities), environmental impact (diversity and landscape damage), social (public reception, hunting). They can cause other risks (land slides...), degrade water and air quality, not to mention the release of CO2 into the atmosphere. Human activity remains the main cause of fires. Climatic conditions (drought, heat wave or strong wind) are aggravating factors that increase the sensitivity of vegetation. The finding in 2022 is: • a major risk throughout the territory, • the lengthening of the fire season (late canicles), • ignorance of risk and good gestures. In view of the increasing risk of forest fires, highlighted during the summer, and in order to respond to the climate emergency and the preservation of biodiversity, the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council decided, as part of the Trees and Forests Plan, to initiate a specific plan for the prevention and fight against forest fires.
