This is an umbrella. It holds no data of its own; it names records that make up the University of Oslo's fourMs Lab device- and technology-comparison work and says how they relate. Each record below is deposited separately, is self-contained, and can be cited on its own. Together they are the empirical basis of various papers and theses and form an important part of the validation of results from the lab. The work asks one question in many forms: when two instruments measure the same human movement at the same moment, do they agree, and where do they stop agreeing? The pairings differ by record: optical against optical, inertial against optical, one handset against another. This is an open collection; it grows as the lab acquires new instruments. See the README for what is deliberately absent and why. The records in this collection. Optical motion-capture noise floor (2012) — two optical systems recording markers that do not move, which is how still a motionless marker looks to each of them. Qualisys and OptiTrack on a string quartet (2020) — the same performance captured by both systems at once, asking whether they agree outside a calibration volume. AX3 against Qualisys, with a hand-moved Wii Remote (2015) — an accelerometer and an optical system recorded across a 2015 validation session, with a hand-held Wii Remote tracked optically. AX3 synchronisation test and concurrent pilot (2015) — twenty accelerometers tapped together to see whether they can be aligned afterwards, and a first simultaneous inertial and optical recording. Cymbal percussion, inertial and optical (2013) — a full-body inertial suit against optical markers on fast, hard-onset movement. Mobile-phone accelerometer comparison (2026) — four Samsung handsets measuring the same standstill, asking whether ordinary phones agree well enough with one another to be used as instruments. Dancing to electronic dance music — an umbrella for two dance studies, the second of which recorded twenty-nine dancers with one optical head marker each and an accelerometer on each wrist. Funding.
