This dataset focuses on the Localized Potential Accessibility (APL) indicator, which assesses the accessibility of medico-social structures for the elderly. APL is a local indicator that accounts for supply and demand from surrounding communities, calculated at the municipal level to highlight disparities in healthcare provision that broader area indicators (such as living areas or departments) might obscure. The dataset covers metropolitan France. It includes three APL indicators: 1. APL to elderly accommodation establishments (EHPA), providing the number of beds in elderly accommodation establishments within 60 minutes per 100,000 potential residents aged 60 or older; calculation considers demand (based on national usage rates by age group and municipal population by age), supply volume (number of beds or installed capacity), and a 60-minute accessibility threshold. 2. APL to autonomy residences, providing the number of places in autonomy residences within 30 minutes per 100,000 people aged 60 or older; calculation considers demand (population aged 60 or older), supply volume (number of places or installed capacity), and a 30-minute accessibility threshold. 3. APL to services providing assistance to the elderly (Sapa), providing the number of employees in home assistance services for the elderly within 30 minutes per 100,000 people aged 60 or older; calculation considers demand (population aged 60 or older), supply volume (number of employees in home assistance services), and a 30-minute accessibility threshold. Data sources include: the 2015 population census from the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee), the 2015 EHPA survey from the Directorate for Research, Studies, Assessment, and Statistics (DREES), supplemented with data from the FINESS directory, and the 2015 NOVA database from the Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE).
