The TrollsWithOpinion dataset was developed by the Insight SFI Research Centre. It contains 8,881 English multimodal memes combining text and images, aiming to study opinion manipulation behaviors of memes in specific domains such as products, politics and other fields. The dataset is constructed via annotating and augmenting existing data, covering a wide variety of meme types ranging from humorous to aggressive ones. Its main application focuses on identifying and classifying opinion manipulation within memes, so as to address the problem of meme abuse in online environments.
