In this project we assembled the gill transcriptome of the deep-sea hydrothermal vent mussel Bathymodiolus septemdierum from three strand-specific, polyA-selected RNAseq libraries. This transcriptome will provide a reference for population genomic and gene expression analyses to infer genetic partitioning and ecological functioning of B. septemdierum across different habitats.
