Enteric virome in rotavirus vaccine-derived cases. Rotavirus

In this study, we investigated the diarrheic infants that were rotavirus-positive and harboured a Rotarix vaccine-derived strain, in the post-vaccine era in Belgium. The aim was to characterise the vaccine-derived strains to assess the mutations, as well as reassortments with wild-type strains. We also aimed to evaluate whether alternative enteric viruses might be responsible for the diarrhea episode and further characterised the detected known and/or divergent enteric viruses.
