Gulf war illness alterations of mouse virome with andrographolide treatment

Military veterans exposed to chemicals during the Persian Gulf War developed neuroinflammation and gastrointestinal disease called Gulf War Illness (GWI). Andrographolide (AG) is a plant extract with many potentially beneficial pharmacological effects for treating GWI. Here we used a mouse model of GWI combined with AG treatment to investigate the effects of AG on the gut virome. This study identifies a potential use of AG to treat GWI.
