Railway

Used for mapping purposes. This dataset contains a complete collection of current railway tracks within the Region of Peel, as well as some trackage that is disused and abandoned (for historic or other purposes). A single line representation of each track in the Region of Peel's railway network, including mainlines, crossovers, branch lines, yards, siding, spurs, and abandoned track. The various track types were based on definitions used by the OpenStreetMap project (brief descriptions of each can be found in the Supplemental Information section). This dataset includes the Union-Pearson Express line and Pearson LINK Train. The trackage outside of the Region of Peel was obtained from GeoBase's National Railway Network (v1.0, 2013-06). This data was modified to use the same attributes as the Peel data and some data, such as track use, owner, and operator were transferred over to enrich the dataset as a whole.
