The SPICE-HL3 dataset was created by the Space Robotics Group of LunaLab at the University of Luxembourg’s SnT, with the goal of simulating the visual environments of lunar high-latitude regions. The dataset contains images, inertial measurement data, and wheel odometry data collected by robots navigating under diverse lighting conditions along seven distinct trajectories, totaling 88 unique sequences and 1.3 million images. The data was captured using stereo RGB-inertial sensors, a monochrome monocular camera, and a single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) camera, which is utilized for the first time in this robotic dataset. This dataset can be employed to validate a wide range of perception tasks, ranging from vision-based autonomous navigation to scientific imaging for future lunar missions.
