Employment Investment Areas

** Employment Investment Areas are not included in the Regional Growth Framework, and are not part of Plan Bay Area ** Employment Investment Areas (EIAs) are employment-oriented planning areas that arose during the Sustainable Communities Strategies process. They represent areas designated by local jurisdictions where new employment-oriented growth is expected to occur. While EIAs were not included in Plan Bay Area as priority locations for new development, they will be an important part of creating a long-term sustainable regional growth pattern.
