Data from: Do solar farms alter invertebrate communities and reduce activity of the common pipistrelle bat (Pipistrellus pipistrellus) through prey-mediated effects?

The file “dataset_GLMM” contains the data used to fit a series of generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) to assess the effects of photovoltaic (PV) panels on arthropod abundance and family richness. Analyses were conducted for all arthropods combined and for each order occurring in at least one third of the sites, namely Araneae, Coleoptera, Collembola, Diptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Opiliones, Psocodea, and Thysanoptera. The file “dataset_nmds-gllvm” contains the data used to examine differences in family-level community composition between sites with and without PV panels. This dataset was used for two complementary analyses: (i) a generalized linear latent variable model (GLLVM) applied to the most abundant families (those occurring in at least one third of the sites), and (ii) a non-metric multidimensional scaling (NMDS) analysis. The file “dataset_SEM” contains the data used to perform structural equation modelling (SEM) to test the direct and indirect effects of solar PV panels—mediated by prey availability—on Pipistrellus pipistrellus activity.
