We homogenize the cellular 40S ribosomes through deleting the whole set of alternative duplicated genes encoding yeast 40S RP paralogs. Then we reintroduced the deleted RP genes and remaining RP genes back into this strain (Homo-40S) separately to form E-hetero-40S and E-homo-40S.
