A Scientometric analysis of the use of strontium isotopes ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr) in Archaeology and Palaeontology

This dataset contains bibliographic metadata for 622 peer-reviewed publications on the application of strontium isotopic ratios (^87Sr/^86Sr) and strontium concentrations in archaeology and palaeontology. Records were retrieved from the Scopus database via the CAPES Periodicals Portal using the search query ("87Sr/86Sr" OR strontium) AND (palaeontology OR archaeology), covering all indexed years up to 2025 (excluding 2026). The initial search yielded 631 records, which were manually screened to remove false positives and studies not directly applying strontium analyses in archaeological or palaeontological contexts. The final dataset includes bibliographic metadata such as authors, affiliations, titles, abstracts, publication years, journal information, citations, language, and author/index keywords. The dataset was compiled for bibliometric analysis and is provided in Microsoft Excel format.
