The hunt for X-ray Quasi-Periodic Eruptions in the eROSITA era

A new type of Xray transients was very recently discovered and named XrayQuasiPeriodic Eruptions (QPEs). This phenomenon likely traced, around a blackhole (BH) of a few hundred thousands solar masses, the ongoing formation andstabilization of an accretion flow analogous to the one that we observed in moremassive sources. Combining the scanning capabilities of eROSITA, launchen inJuly 2019, with subsequent deeper XMMNewton observations, we can continuouslyidentify QPE candidates with the former and confirm their nature with thelatter.
