Dysbiosis plus DSS induced colitis in MCJ-KO mice model

Methylation-controlled J protein (MCJ) is a negative regulator of the complex I of the Electron Transport Chain located in the inner membrane of the mitochondria and has been associated with tumor necrosis factor production on the cell surface. MCJ deficiency modified the microbiota-host interplay in health and disease. Previous dysbiosis modified microbial-host interaction regulated by MCJ increasing the severity of the disease.
