In this study we have done sequencing of the transcriptome of the paper wasp Polistes canadensis. 454 sequencing was performed to obtain a complete transcriptome and then Illumina sequecing as performed to obtain quantifications. Sequencing of the brain of several phenotypes was performed, including queens, workers, newly emerged and foundresses.
