RunesDB.de inscription data

The RuneS-DB is an online database which provides comprehensive data on runic objects and texts from the beginnings of runic writing in Europe, some time around the first century AD, and up until the post-Reformation period. It encompasses information on runic epigraphy known to date from Scandinavia, Germany, Great-Britain and the Netherlands, as well as other areas of Western and Eastern Europe, and also on runic entries in medievel and post-Reformation manuscripts (so-called manuscript runes or Runica Manuscripta). The database was developed as part of the research programme of the long-term project "Runic Writing in the Germanic languages" and funded by the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Lower Saxony.
