资源简介:

This dataset will contain curated site characterization, rain garden design, and as-built information generated by the FloodSmart Southeast Texas Youth Initiative for Environmental Literacy and Community Resilience (FLOWS) in the Golden Triangle region of Southeast Texas. FLOWS is a three-year Lamar University project that will install three rain gardens, including a confirmed school site at Harmony Science Academy-Beaumont, a site in Orange, Texas, and a third Southeast Texas site to be finalized in consultation with project partners. The dataset is being created to document how school- and community-based rain gardens are sited, designed, and installed as nature-based stormwater management and environmental education infrastructure. Data will be collected and generated through site assessments, infiltration testing, rain gauge-supported site visits, engineering design activities, plant selection, and as-built documentation. Expected contents include site identifiers and locations, site context and drainage characteristics, pre-installation infiltration and soil observations, design dimensions and specifications, planting plans, installation dates, and as-built updates. Data collection/generation is expected during 2025-10-01 through 2028-09-30 in Beaumont, Orange, and an additional Southeast Texas site to be finalized. The public-facing dataset will exclude personally identifiable information and individual-level evaluation data.
