VPRS 17625 War Damage Insurance Register

This series records valuations of properties made by the Shire of Maffra (VA 2461) including payments made, for the Commonwealth of Australia War Damage Commission under the National Security (War Damage to Property) Regulations. Under the Regulations, municipalities were required to contribute sums to the War Damage Commission. This sum was raised through the imposition of a levy based on property valuations.Entries recorded in register include registration number, name and address of the person rated, description and situation of property, valuation and amount paid.
