MTBS Burn Severity Data is a multi-agency collaborative project aimed at consistently mapping fire severity and burn boundaries across all regions of the United States since 1984. This database includes fire data for incidents of 1000 acres or greater in the western United States and 500 acres or greater in the eastern United States, covering the contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The dataset can be used to assess the impacts of fires on landscape health and monitor fire trends over time.
