Organized using the Antibiotic Resistance Ontology (ARO), the database contains rigorously screened, peer-reviewed antimicrobial resistance determinants and related antibiotic data. CARD provides the Resistance Gene Identifier (RGI) software, which can predict the resistome from protein sequences, whole genomes, genome assemblies, or metagenomic sequencing reads.
