Landsat-derived Chlorophyll-a (Chla) Dataset for Lakes and Reservoirs Larger than 1 km² in the Mid-Lower Yangtze River Basin (1984–2024)

This dataset provides chlorophyll-a concentration (Chla) data for lakes and reservoirs larger than 1 km² within the Mid-Lower Yangtze River Basin (MLYRB) from 1984 to 2024. The Chla concentrations were retrieved using a Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT) machine learning model based on Landsat series imagery (TM and OLI). The dataset offers three-year interval mean Chla values for 1,722 lakes and reservoirs across the MLYRB, representing a continuous 40-year record of water quality dynamics in the region.
