Each shape was created by dissolving together the GSF boundary stored in the SDE before and after edits were made in 2025 to represent the updated, ACTIVE GSF boundaries. The GSF AOI may include areas that are now inactive, but at one time, had received in-lieu water. Earlier versions of the GSFs, which may cover a larger footprint, were not available, therefore, any applications for recovery wells based on the GSF AOI, which appear to fall outside of this boundary may require additional research to confirm the location in relation to historic accrual of credits. A Groundwater Savings Facility (GSF) Permit (A.R.S. § 45-812.01) allows the permit holder to deliver a renewable water supply, called "in-lieu" water, to a recipient who agrees to replace groundwater pumping with in lieu water, thus creating a groundwater savings.
