Dataset from "Functional Chitosan/Poly(vinyl alcohol) Biomembranes Cross-linked with Citric Acid-for Efficient CO2/CH4 Separation"

This work, systematically developed CS/PVA membranes cross-linked with varying amounts of CA and subjected to different thermal cross-linking times. The objective was to elucidate the relationships between composition, cross-linking degree, and the resulting structural, thermal, surface, and mass transfer properties relevant to CO2/CH4 gas separation. By correlating functional group evolution, thermal behaviour, hydrophilicity, water absorption, and diffusion together with gas permeability, this study aimed to identify optimal formulations that combine stability, controlled water interaction, and functional group availability for the application of these bio-based membranes in CO2 capture from industrial emissions.
