Leverage AI assistant in geospatial workflows & design instructor materials

This module provides a hands-on introduction to the ArcGIS Geospatial AI Platform, exploring the critical intersection of disaster management and modern artificial intelligence. Participants will transition from theoretical concepts to practical application by acting as "Human-in-the-Loop" analysts, directing Generative AI to transform raw seismic and infrastructure data into actionable intelligence. By configuring scientific risk assessments and medical resource density calculations through the ArcGIS Arcade Assistant, students will learn to distinguish between specialized GeoAI models (used for mathematical spatial tasks) and Generative AI (used for linguistic and logical workflows). The ultimate goal is to equip future GIS professionals with the skills to leverage AI co-pilots responsibly, ensuring that emergency response visualizations remain accurate, transparent, and grounded in scientific standards. Technical Requirements: This module utilizes Generative AI capabilities within ArcGIS Online. Because these tools are currently in a Beta/Preview phase, they require specific organizational permissions that are not enabled by default. Instructors must verify that the following technical criteria are met before students begin the lab: ArcGIS Online Organizational Account: All users must be signed into a verified organizational account. The AI Assistant is not available for ArcGIS Public accounts, Personal Use accounts, or Developer subscriptions. Required Privileges: Users must be assigned a role that includes the privilege to "Use AI assistants." An organization administrator must manually opt-in to these features via the Organization Settings: Enable AI Assistants: Navigate to Organization > Settings > AI Assistants. The toggle for "Allow use of AI assistants by members of your organization" must be turned ON.
